ISOLATION WARD, CURVED CORRIDOR, ISLAND 3
This corridor meanders from the hospital to the measles ward.
When I photographed it on an autumn day, light dappled through the windows and gave the impression I was viewing something under water. Behind each wall of glass, it seemed, was water instead of air. An odd gravity rules the corridor. It is curved to impede the march of bacteria. But what is the top and what is the bottom? There is confusion, and an eeriness of blue.
